There's a hint of chill in the southerly this day, but that's all as we wander the backyard - me and Lucy. Gran should be with us but she has the flu and must stay indoors. So we gaze at the garden, pick flowers, sample plants, look up at giant trees tipped with green. In these, the first days of August, jasmine is already blossoming and the sun's warmth mocks winter. Most of the sunlight - for me at least - shines from this wriggly bundle of pink in my arms. |
